Wesley Crusher is a young genius, with talent in physics, engineering and ship systems design. Often impulsive, he is also shy, and somewhat isolated by his intelligence. Appointed as the youngest acting ensign in Starfleet by Captain Picard, Wesley has been assigned many duties aboard ship as part of his continuing education. He now attends Starfleet academy on Earth, periodically returning to visit his mother, Dr. Beverly Crusher, and the rest of his extended U.S.S. Enterprise family.
